Air pollutant dispersion study

Knowing what leaves the stack is not the same as knowing what reaches the neighbours. Dispersion modelling translates source emissions into actual ground-level concentrations across the area, which is what the authorities assess.

What's included

• Inventory of emission sources and characterisation of flows and concentrations.
• Processing of the meteorological series representative of the site.
• Dispersion modelling with AERMOD or an equivalent model.
• Calculation of ground-level concentrations and comparison with limit values.
• Analysis of the installation's contribution to local air quality.
• Definition of mitigation measures and stack heights.

When you need it

• You are applying for an integrated environmental permit or an emissions permit.
• You are modifying an installation and have to show it does not worsen air quality.
• The environmental authority is asking you to justify ambient levels, not just emissions.

We work with real meteorological series for the site, not generic data. Spanish Air Quality Act 34/2007 and RD 100/2011.
