Flood risk and water hazard study

A project can be held up for years by a badly delineated flood zone. We determine whether your site floods, at what return period and under what conditions the water authority will let you operate, using our own modelling rather than a reading of the official maps.

• Hydrological data compilation and flow calculation for the 10, 100 and 500-year return periods.
• One or two-dimensional hydraulic modelling and mapping of depths and velocities.
• Delineation of the preferential flow zone, the flood zone and the public watercourse domain.
• Compatibility analysis with the Spanish public water domain regulations and with the plan in force.
• Adaptation and protection measures: raised platforms, drainage, cross structures and freeboard.
• Report for processing before the competent river basin authority.

How we work

We do the modelling ourselves, with surveyed topography, rather than passing on the national mapping as it comes. That makes it possible to defend a tighter delineation where the official mapping is conservative, and to avoid construction costs that were never needed.
