Cultural heritage impact study

Cultural heritage impact study

Archaeological heritage turns up at the worst moment, often with construction already under way. We document what is there before you commit to a timetable, and leave the project with a defensible position before the culture department.

What's included

  • Desk-based survey: architectural, archaeological and ethnological heritage, and archaeological inventories.
  • Surface field survey with georeferencing of the features found.
  • Analysis of direct and indirect effects, including visual impact on protected assets.
  • Assessment of effects on historic tracks, dry stone walls and ethnological features.
  • Preventive and corrective measures and archaeological supervision during construction.
  • Documentation for the competent culture authority's report.

When you need it

  • You are processing an environmental impact assessment or a special plan.
  • The project lies in an area with listed assets within its zone of influence.
  • The culture authority has required a study or archaeological supervision.
  • You want to anticipate the risk of a find before fixing the construction programme.

How we work

With an accredited archaeological team and direct coordination with the environmental team, so the heritage report fits the rest of the file and does not open contradictions that would later have to be explained.
